Usage and Licensing

Astrodevice is a copyrighted project. This page serves to give you as simple and clear as possible information on what you can use and to what extent. Please treat all information on this site as an Agrreement between me, the author, and you, using my work. If you do not agree with the following terms, you should cease using the AstroDevice website, permanently delete all information and files downloaded from it, and destroy all previously made models (if they were based on given files). Your agreement to the following terms is a condition of your use of my projects and website.

The ASTRODEVICE trademark

The ASTRODEVICE trademark is registered and legally protected on an exclusive basis.

Designs of devices and accessories

My designs are protected by various legal forms: some devices are protected by patent applications, some by utility models registrations, all of them simply by stating authorship, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Even if you see the free files, the designs contained therein are protected by international copyright laws and, for the most part, by appropriate filings with intellectual property offices.

Reverse Engineering is prohibited. When using and/or buying my products, you must agree not to directly or indirectly disassemble, decrypt, electronically scan, peel components, decompile, or otherwise reverse engineer in any manner or attempt to reverse engineer or otherwise derive any source code from, all or any portion of my devices and/or accessores, or permit, assist or encourage any third party to do so.

No warranty

All information contained in the Astrodevice pages, especially the descriptions of accessories and devices and their models, as well as related files and instructions are provided on an “as is” basis, without any warranty either expressed or implied.

You may use the designs provided by me exclusively at your own risk of processing, production and use. I do not warrant the performance of these products nor am I responsible for any damage they may cause, in particular damage to your equipment, cameras, telescopes, mounts, filters and any other losses. 3D printing technique, self-assembly of components, choice of materials, quality of work, operating conditions and a myriad of other variables affect the final result. Therefore, if you decide to use any information or files downloaded from the Astrodevice website, remember that you do so solely at your own risk and you alone are responsible for the final result.

All information that I present in my articles, instructions, videos and any other statements are purely personal opinion and can not be treated as advice or professional or specialist suggestion, Any information that I present you use at your own risk and if you intend to use it you should previously check it in independent sources.

License

All information presented on the Astrodevice website, including the designs and models provided for 3D printing, as well as the associated fabrication and assembly instructions, is intended for PRIVATE, NON-COMMERCIAL PERSONAL OR EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY. 

By providing you with this data, I grant you a non-exclusive license to use it for the purpose of making the accessories presented on Astrodevice pages yourself, and, most importantly, the item created is to be used exclusively by you and cannot be the subject of sale or any other operation of a commercial nature.

Remember that once you download the file of a given model to your computer, you do not become its owner, but you have a license, i.e. the right specified here to use it in a certain way. The condition for using my designs is attribution of authorship. When sharing your experience with anyone, especially in social networks or discussion forums, you should clearly indicate that it is an accessory of the Astrodevice project.

Usage

To dispel any doubts, below is a short list describing how you can use my work:

You are allowed to:

  • download the files to disk, print the 3D models, assemble them and use them in your personal astronophotography kit;
  • if you don't have a 3D printer yourself, you can have someone 3D print them for you, even if it will be a paid service. Here, however, an important note: if you use the services of a company that prints any models for an external, individual order of the customer, in which he is the one who provides the files - no problem. However, if you come across an offer from someone, then he sells my models or himself announces the possibility of printing them for a fee - verify if they have my permission to do so. If not, this person or company violates the provisions of the license and simply steals my work, making a profit from it. Do not take advantage of such offers and do not participate in the theft of intellectual property.

You are not allowed to:

  • duplicate downloaded information, including 3D files, for posting on other servers or websites;
  • perform any modifications after which you attribute authorship to yourself or another third party;
  • perform reverse engineering, that is, in particular, create CAD source files of downloaded designs;
  • make any commercial offer of 3D printing of Astrodevice accessories, their assembly, sale or any other financial benefit from the use of my designs and models posted on Astrodevice websites, unless you have my explicit permission.
